Joska Salek and Michaela Werner use breath and nervous-system training to perform at the limit. Learn the same tools — and how to apply them in everyday life, whenever stress hits.
A 3-hour workshop
Saturday 16 May
Infuse Health, Adamstown.
One afternoon. 25 places. First release sold out.

Joska Salek holds the Guinness World Record for the longest abdominal plank ever held by a man — 9 hours, 38 minutes, 47 seconds. Michaela Werner swam 2.5 kilometers underwater in one hour, accumulating over 42 minutes submerged. Both hold multiple Guinness World Records. This is their only Newcastle event.
This isn't about how hard you can push. It's about noticing how you respond when things get uncomfortable — and learning to meet that differently.
You'll leave the event with three things.
This event is open to everyone. Whether you train regularly, work in a high-pressure environment, or simply want to handle stress better — this workshop is designed for you. There is no experience required or level of fitness needed.

Joska holds three Guinness World Records: the longest abdominal plank ever held by a man (9 hours, 38 minutes, 47 seconds), a barefoot half marathon completed on snow and ice in sub-zero conditions (1:50:42), and a weighted plank with 18kg on his back (1:25:02). He began this chapter of his life at 48, rebuilding from a place of genuine difficulty. He now works with individuals and organisations across Europe on mental resilience, stress management, and what becomes possible when the mind stops negotiating with discomfort.

Michaela is a Newcastle-based freediving athlete, coach, and Guinness World Record holder. In 2023 she swam 101 × 25m laps underwater — no fins, just body and breath — in under one hour, accumulating over 42 minutes submerged. In 2025 she led a team of nine elite freedivers to cover 98 kilometers in 24 hours. With over 16 years in the water and a decade dedicated to Dynamic No Fins freediving, she teaches the same qualities that her sport demands: presence, economy, and an honest relationship with the breath under pressure.
A boutique movement studio in Adamstown since 2017, rated 5 stars across 90 Google reviews. We teach yoga, Pilates, strength, and longevity to people who want to move well for the long run — and we bring teachers to Newcastle who can genuinely change how you train your body and mind. Joska and Michaela are two of them.
This 8 min documentary discusses Joska's journey to his Guinness World Record — his training, the challenges he faced and what it was like to hold a plank for 9 hours 38 minutes and 47 seconds.

Yes. The physical elements are tools for exploration, not tests of fitness. There is no performance standard. The workshop is designed to be accessible to everyone.
No. Everything is done at your own level and at your own pace. There's no performance standard, no one scoring you, and no comparison to anyone else in the room. You can stop, sit out, or opt down at any point. The physical elements are there as tools to explore — not tests to pass.
No. There are no ice baths, no chanting, and no extreme wellness theatre. This is applied nervous-system and breath training — the same methods Joska and Michaela use to perform at the highest level of their sports — taught in a way that's accessible and useful for everyday life.
Joska lives in Europe and doesn't normally teach publicly in Australia. This is the only Newcastle date on his and Michaela's Australian tour, and you'll spend three hours in a room of 25 learning directly from two Guinness World Record holders. You'll leave with tools you can use for the rest of your life, in any situation where your body or mind wants to quit.
Three things. A breath and nervous-system protocol you can use the moment stress hits — in traffic, before a difficult conversation, or at 3am when your mind won't settle. A framework for meeting physical and mental discomfort differently, rather than avoiding it or muscling through. And your own baseline — a measurement of how you respond under pressure today, so you know where you're starting from.
A small group of 25 — enough to feel the energy in the room, small enough that Joska and Michaela can work with you individually. The workshop works whether you train regularly or haven't exercised in years — you set the intensity.
Comfortable clothing you can move in. Water. An open mind.
Eat a light meal 1–2 hours before. Avoid coming in hungry or having just eaten heavily.
